About the Alliance

Different roots. Shared ground. Stronger communities.

Dandelion Community Alliance is a community-led, public-benefit organization based in Calgary, Alberta. Learn our story, direction and accountability in one place.

Our Story

Why the dandelion?

A dandelion carries possibility in every seed. It takes root in new places, adapts and helps life spread around it. For us, it represents resilience, connection and the quiet power of people who contribute wherever they call home.

The Alliance was created to help newcomers, diverse communities and local residents meet not as strangers, but as neighbours and collaborators.

Mission & Vision

Belong, contribute and thrive together.

Our mission is to foster inclusive and connected communities through intercultural learning, civic participation, volunteer service and shared community action.

Our vision is a Canada where people of every background can belong, contribute and thrive together.

Governance

Community trust requires clear accountability.

The Alliance is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and accountable to its voting members. The Board oversees strategy, organizational affairs, financial stewardship, partnerships and compliance.

Approved biographies, reports and privacy-reviewed governance documents will be published as they become available.

Accessibility

Belonging includes access.

We are building our website, communications and activities for keyboard access, clear structure, accessible contrast, reduced motion and plain-language participation information.

Participants can share communication, mobility, sensory or other access needs when contacting us or registering for an activity.

Formal registration identifiers will be published only after issued documents have been verified.
